Room for Romance is committed to protecting your privacy. We are registered with the Data Protection Registrar and operate in accordance with applicable data protection legislation.

Your reservations with us are secure. All personal data is encrypted, and your credit card details are processed through a secure server using the latest SSL encryption technology and encoding protocols.

Personal information provided by you is only used to process and confirm your booking, or to deal with Gift Card purchases, and is required to ensure you receive a professional service. When making a reservation or request through Room for Romance your name and contact details may be shared with the hotel in question to help them to deal with your request.

We do not disclose your personal information to other parties without your consent, nor do we ever sell mailing lists to third parties. We may need to contact you to advise you of any changes or queries with your hotel booking or Gift Card purchase, to send you our newsletters if you have chosen to subscribe, or to notify you if you have won a Room for Romance competition. We may contact you by email or telephone (including SMS).

Room for Romance acts as a booking agent for the hotels it books and does not operate or own any of the hotels represented here.

Booking terms and conditions can be viewed on our booking pages. You will need to confirm your acceptance of these terms and conditions when booking on the Room for Romance site.

Credit card details and a deposit are required to guarantee your reservation, and details are shown on our booking pages. When you book online through our Starfish Interactive booking engine, this payment will show as taken by Starfish Interactive on your card statement. When you book directly with us by phone, it will show as taken by Riva Publishing Ltd. You are responsible for paying the hotel any remaining amounts owed before checkout.

Where applicable, your card will be charged at your bank's rate of exchange for the hotel's own currency.

Hotel rooms and packages offered through Room for Romance are subject to the terms and conditions published by the applicable hotel. You agree to abide by such terms when making a reservation through Room for Romance.

Room for Romance selects all properties featured on this site with great care and we do our utmost to ensure that the information on this site is accurate and up to date. However, any opinions expressed by our reviewers are subjective and hotel amenities may change at any time or without notice. No warranty is made by Room for Romance as to the accuracy or quality of the information, services or advice provided or available through ourselves, or to the standards or suitability of a hotel for your stay. You agree that the use of, or reliance upon, any of the content of this site, including recommendations of hotels, products or services, is done entirely at your risk.

Room for Romance shall not be liable for any disappointment, dissatisfaction, loss, damage, expense or inconvenience suffered by you at any hotel represented on the site. Likewise, Room for Romance cannot accept responsibility where a hotel discontinues an offer or benefit shown on this site without informing us.  

All bookings are subject to an individual hotel’s cancellation policy, and details are shown on our booking pages and on your email confirmation. When you make a booking, you are confirming that you have read and agree to that particular hotel's cancellation policy and the terms and conditions shown.

Cancellations must be notified to us by email. Room for Romance will then confirm to you and to the hotel by email that the booking is cancelled. Please ensure you receive this proof of cancellation – you may require this should your booking be cancelled close to or within the hotel’s cancellation penalty period, to avoid any unnecessary charges.

Hotel cancellation policies specify a period before check-in when cancellations may be subject to payment of a penalty fee. This period does not include the day of arrival. Thus a 24-hour cancellation policy means that a booking must be cancelled at least 24 hours before midnight on the day before your arrival date. 

Where a Room for Romance deposit is taken at time of booking, this is refundable – less an admin charge of £20 – only if a booking is cancelled outside the hotel's cancellation penalty period. Deposits are non-refundable once the booking is covered by the cancellation penalty period. Where additional booking deposits are taken by the hotel on booking (and as notified), these may also be non refundable, depending on that hotel’s terms and conditions.

We advise taking out personal travel insurance when booking, should you need to cancel for any reason. Our insurance partners Columbus Direct offer excellent rates.

If your booking has been made using a Room for Romance Gift Card, cancellations are subject to a standard GBP 25 admin fee, regardless of the time of cancellation, due to the extra administrative work involved. This GBP 25 fee also applies to cancellation of bookings where full pre-payment has been made to Room for Romance.

Where room availability is shown 'on request', it means that we need to confirm availability directly with the hotel first. You will then receive a phone call or email from our bookings team confirming whether accommodation is available for your selected dates.

Rooms cannot be held pending your acceptance of such an offer, and availability can change rapidly. To avoid disappointment, we advise you to accept offers as soon as possible if you wish to make a firm booking. Confirmations are normally sent out within 24 hours of you making a booking, and it is your responsibility to contact us if you have not received a confirmation email.

Room for Romance is happy to help plan your honeymoon and holiday itineraries, and a nominal GBP 40 fee – refundable against your booking – is payable for this service.

Many Room for Romance hotels offer you special Extras to help make your stay memorable – often a bottle of champagne, welcome drinks or a room upgrade.

Where details of Room for Romance Extras are displayed, hotels have agreed to honour this offer. However Riva Publishing Ltd, trading as Room for Romance, cannot accept responsibility for any loss, disappointment, inconvenience, damage or injury as a result of a hotel’s failure to honour the Extras shown.

Where a room upgrade is offered as a Room for Romance Extra, such upgrades are always made subject to availability on the day of check-in. Upgrades are normally to the next highest room category, and further upgrades are at the hotel's discretion.

We make every effort to ensure that the information published on this website is accurate and current. However we cannot be held responsible for any errors or omissions, or for changes that may occur.

While your booking has been made with Room for Romance, your booked hotel is responsible for providing the accommodation and any other booked services you purchase. Riva Publishing Ltd, trading as Room for Romance, assumes no responsibility for errors and omissions, nor for liability for any loss, damage, disappointment, injury or inconvenience or claim of any nature whatsoever resulting from the use of information on this website or which is in any way connected with any use of Room for Romance services.

Views, opinions and recommendations given on this website are our own and are provided for guidance only. Reviews written by members of our review team are subjective and are prepared in good faith.

Once your booking is confirmed, the contract is made between you and the hotel concerned and any claims or complaints relating to your hotel stay must be settled directly with the hotel. If you have any reason for complaint or dissatisfaction during your stay it is important that you take this up with the hotel management to try and resolve this.

We act as an intermediary between you and the hotels, and have no direct control over the quality of services or the charges of individual hotels. We therefore are not responsible or liable in any way whatsoever in relation to any dispute arising between you and the hotels regarding their charges, quality of services, facilities or otherwise.

Hotel information, room rates, facilities and availability are subject to change, and services and facilities can be withdrawn without notice. Room for Romance cannot accept responsibility for any inconvenience, omission, additional expense or other problem related to your stay that is beyond our direct control.
