You can search the Room for Romance site in different ways:
To book a hotel online
Many of our hotels are available for immediate online booking, and you can check availability using our Book Now panel. Search results will display thumbnails of the Room for Romance properties available for your chosen dates.
To view all hotels
Select the country and/or region you would like to visit, and your search will display thumbnails of ALL Room for Romance properties located there. Click on the Full Details button (or the map hyperlinks) to access the hotel’s full entry.
Smaller properties may not have the technology for computerised online booking, so to check availability you can complete and submit the Booking Request form, which goes straight to the hotel. They will then contact you directly (normally within 24 hours) to confirm room availability and total cost.
By property name
Go straight to a particular hotel entry by keying in the name (or part) in the Search for A Property panel.
By property type
You can refine and narrow down your initial search results by checking some of the 12 Advanced Search boxes displayed. These enable you to search by property or location type – be it Country House, Rustic Lodge or Islands & Coast.

HOW FAR AHEAD SHOULD I BOOK?
Do book well ahead for weekend stays to avoid disappointment. Many Room for Romance properties are booked out on bank holiday weekends and around Valentine's Day, so the more notice you can give the better. Continental hotels with a limited season can also be heavily booked during school summer holidays and other peak periods. If it's an anniversary or other date-specific getaway, do plan well ahead!
IS THE ROOM FOR ROMANCE SITE FOR MEMBERS ONLY?
No, there’s no registration requirement, joining fee or passwords to make bookings and reservation inquiries on roomforromance.com. You need only register to receive our e-newsletters, giving you details of news and special offers at Room for Romance properties.
When booking, simply complete the fields shown on our booking pages, which require the usual standard information. You can also ask your chosen hotel or B&B for any additional information at this time.
WHAT ARE ROOM FOR ROMANCE EXTRAS?
These are special extras provided when you book through the Room for Romance website, such as a bottle of champagne, an upgrade or a spa treatment. These extra touches help ensure you enjoy your romantic getaway to the full. Look out for details when browsing our hotels.
HOW DOES THE ONLINE BOOKING PROCESS WORK?
Our online bookings and administration are handled by our booking partners Starfish Luxury Travel. Their reservations team will contact you by email to confirm your booking and any special requests. This normally takes just a few hours – though remember there may be time zone differences.
Individual hotels’ booking conditions vary, and you may be required to provide a credit card deposit online to guarantee your booking. This is processed in a secure environment using 128 bit SSL encryption technology. You can also view the Room for Romance/Starfish booking terms and conditions in full on our booking page. Your booking details will show exactly what deposit is payable (if applicable) and the balance payable to the hotel on departure.
Should your chosen property not be linked into the Starfish online booking system your request will go directly to the property, whose owners will respond to you directly – almost always within 24 hours.
WOULDN'T I GET A BETTER RATE BY JUST CONTACTING THE HOTEL DIRECT?
No. We are also able to offer special rates in some cases that are lower than those available by calling direct. And don’t forget that many hotels offer Room for Romance guests additional special extras – be it a room upgrade or a bottle of chilled champagne – to make your stay extra special. OUR RATE GUARANTEE
Simple: If you find a lower rate for the same room type under the same conditions within 24 hours of booking with us, then we will either refund you the difference or cancel your reservation at no cost to you.

HOW DO I CHECK THE STATUS OF MY RESERVATION?
Full details of your Room for Romance booking – which you should print out and take with you on your trip – will be sent to you by email. This will include details of any deposit paid, your booking reference number, together with contact numbers and detailed directions to your accommodation. You can also view the details of your reservation online.
CAN YOU HELP WITH FLIGHTS AND TRAVEL INSURANCE?
While you will need to arrange your own flights or rail/ferry travel, we can help with travel insurance for your trip. When making your hotel booking you will have the option to click on a link and obtain a competitive quote for this through our booking partners.
WHAT CURRENCY IS MY PAYMENT MADE IN?
Room rates are quoted in the local currency of the hotel you have booked with, or in US dollars. You will find a currency converter on our booking pages, to enable you to calculate the approximate cost in other currencies.
ARE YOUR ROOM RATES INCLUSIVE OF TAXES AND SURCHARGES?
Yes, unless otherwise stated. Our booking pages state clearly what is included and not included in the rates shown. These are normally quoted per room per night, based on double occupancy and generally (though not always) including breakfast.
WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL MY BOOKING?
You should email or call our booking partners Starfish without delay if you need to cancel your reservation. Each property has its own cancellation policy (viewable when you make your booking, and on your booking confirmation details) and unless sufficient notice is given cancellation charges may apply.
We always follow the hotels’ own cancellation and payment policies. Any deposit paid will be refunded, provided the cancellation takes place outside the hotel's cancellation period, less a £20/€30 administration fee.
WHAT DOES "ON REQUEST" MEAN?
This message may appear if the hotel doesn’t have the technology needed to give you up-to-date availability information. Our booking agents will double check that your selected hotel is available on the dates you require and confirm back to you via email – usually within three hours.
