MAS DES FIGUES
Luxurious ferme-auberge near Saint-Remy
PACKED WITH SOUTHERN CHARM, Mas des Figues is a place to unwind at the heart of the provencal countryside. Set among lavender fields, olive groves and – naturellement – fig trees, this 18th century ferme-auberge a most appealing maison d’hôtes.
Sat in a peaceful little enclave not far from Saint-Rémy-de-Provence – one of the region’s most appealing small towns - Mas des Figues isn’t about chi-chi pretension. But if you’re after tranquil surrounds, simple elegance and organic home-grown food, look no further.
All is rustic harmony here. Ditch your mobile and other urban trappings and drowse around the well-hidden pool (perfect for getting an all-over tan) to the sound of cicadas in the afternoon sun. Watch sheep and horses graze in the paddock, have a lazy game of boules, write postcards in the pretty lawned gardens and sip a chilled glass of wine on your terrace as the sun goes down. Mas des Figues is a place to be strictly en vacances.
