TWENTY NEVERN SQUARE
Tucked-away London townhouse with touch of the East
WE LOVED THIS RESTORED townhouse in an elegant and leafy west London square. A private home converted into a smart four-star deluxe hotel, Twenty Nevern Square is done out in fetching Euro-Asian style. Eye-catching bedrooms with their beautiful hand-crafted furniture have a definite touch of Raffles about them, plus fully marbled bathrooms. The little cabinet in the corner hides a music system to complement the wide-screen TV concealed in the armoire.
Just a short walk from Cromwell Road and all the bars of Earls Court, Twenty Nevern Square boasts a bedroom for every mood. The Chinese room has cream silk hangings at the windows and black and red silk bedspreads. The Terrace room is a private sanctuary in teal and rust tones with mahogany sleigh beds and a private terrace for breakfast à deux. And the Rococo room is a symphony to excess – as befits a hideaway so close to London’s most exclusive shopping streets.

Hit the spot
Leafy square meets laid-back Orient
Bedtime
Lie on silk cushions and get in the suds together in the sumptuous Ottoman suite
Be savvy
Rooms aren't huge but are beautifully fitted. Shower lights are sensor-operated.
Be smitten
Get away from it all without leaving town.
Bowls of shiny apples
Generous breakfasts complete with fresh tropical fruits start the day here and bowls of shiny apples are everywhere should you get peckish later. Night owls can order the hotel’s famous picnic trays for celebrating in bed or on a private terrace.
The hotel's Ottoman suite – its newest and biggest – takes the biscuit in decadence. Massive floor-to-ceiling windows looking over the garden square, a free-standing clawfoot bath, glass-fronted bathroom, yawning 42 inch plasma TV and sumptuous cream and blue decor mark it out as a place to simply pull down the shutters.
AbFab fans will adore being just a short sprint from the shopaholic’s hunting grounds of Sloane Street and Harvey Nicks. The royal parks are almost as close, and helpful staff are happy to give directions.
