See & Do
See & Do
You’ll find plenty of historic villages in the Barossa, with roots going back to the early settlers. Most retain a historic flavour and – reflecting the origins of immigrant colonies – you’ll find some great German bakeries and sausage shops. Of course the area is famous above all else for wine. There are over 50 wineries hereabouts – most of them open for tastings.
Diary Dates
Easter (bi-annually)
It’s one big party at the Barossa Vintage Festival: barrel tastings, picnics, a balloon burn and dozens of heritage events. All washed down with gallons of wine, of course.
