The original winery buildings by the banks of historic Jacob’s Creek have been restored so their rustic charm shines through modern fittings.

Wooden floors, log fires, sunny verandahs and country-style antiques sit comfortably with inviting spa baths, TVs (as if you’ll even notice them) and air-conditioning (which you’ll definitely notice in those toasty Barossa summers). Each of the five cottage suites at Moorooroo Park has a private garden and a French-style courtyard, while the scented rose gardens (popular for summer weddings) are just a whiff away. Expect fuss-free, relaxed country-style Aussie hospitality here. They provide the setting – you do the fussing.

Kookaburras by the creek

Pathways meander among manicured lawns and secret courtyards shaded by pencil pines and olive trees. Stroll along the creek and hear the kookaburras laughing in the gum trees. And don’t miss the eight-course dégustation menu cooked by owner chefs Wyndham and Patricia House, and partnered (naturally) with great wines.
