ELOUNDA GULF VILLAS AND SUITES
Swish and secluded hillside Cretan hideawayFROM ITS CLIFF-EDGE INFINITY POOLS and sprawling terraces to its sweeping views of the island-strewn Gulf of Mirabello, Elounda Gulf Villas & Suites is one of Crete’s most
extravagant romantic getaways.
This is
boutique hotel seclusion par excellence, and the hotel’s illustrious guest list includes stars, top footballers and royalty – not to mention lovers of shameless indulgence. If your plastic can take the heat, this is a place to holiday – or honeymoon – in style.
Family owned Elounda Gulf Villas & Suites is small, exclusive and luxurious. The boutique hotel’s big draw is its luxury villas, set on a hillside
overlooking the sea with signature saltwater infinity pools that seemingly melt into the sea. Soak in the water or enjoy a pummelling from the jacuzzi jets as you take in views of the bay and its islands.
Hit the spot By Elounda Bay, on Crete’s northern coast.
Pillow Talk Splash out on a villa for the max in privacy and the views shown here. Suites lower down the hill don’t share the same superlative vistas.
Be savvy Ensure your plastic can take the heat.
Be smitten Mouth-watering extravagance.
Superlative views Elounda Gulf Villas & Suites come with every home comfort – enabling you to be as self-sufficient as you like or to tap into the amenities of a luxury hotel. Beautifully decorated spa villas have two bathrooms, sauna and steam room plus a mini gym, and lavish
marble bathrooms with jacuzzi baths come with hand painted trompe l’oeil ceilings and clever lighting. There’s also a perfectly equipped kitchen.
Can’t be bothered to cook? No worries – a private butler or chef will come and prepare whatever you fancy in your kitchen, enabling you to enjoy effortless
private poolside dining on your terrace. Like to cook but can’t be bothered to shop? They’ll organise that, too. Prefer the full works? Just stroll over to the hotel’s Argo restaurant.
Villas hog the best of those enviable cliff-edge vistas, and while the suites – lower down the hill – are luxurious, you won’t get quite the same mouth-watering sea views. You may not see too much of your fellow guests, as villa guests often
dine and drink on their terrace rather than around the main pool, with its wicker sofas and loungers.
Service is naturally impeccable, and gracious staff at Elounda Gulf Villas & Suites are there to
make your stay as effortless as possible – whether it’s arranging a hire car or a boat trip, organising your airport transfers or even whisking you to and from your quarters in a buggy.

Dining in Start the evening with a cocktail at Argonauts poolside lounge bar before moving on to the boutique hotel’s lantern-lit Argo restaurant – just the place to enjoy the chef’s creative take on Greek staples such as
roast lamb, skewered chicken and fish soup. Delicious and beautifully presented desserts complete the picture. Argo has a well deserved following from guests staying at other top Elounda hotels, and a Greek meze is served on some nights.
Breakfast Breakfast is served until midday, in the restaurant or at your villa.
Room service Available 24 hours.
Where? Argo restaurant at Elounda Gulf Villas & Suites
What’s cooking? Well chosen international dishes and Greek favourites. Try the chocolate cheesecake or sweet Cretan doughnuts to finish.

See & Do There are superb beaches in the vicinity, though you may find it hard to drag yourselves away from your villa’s private pool. Staff are happy to arrange excursions around the island and boat trips (with a picnic lunch) for swimming in deserted coves. You’ll need a car to explore the area under your own steam.
