LE SIRENUSE
Glam and dreamy address in a chocolate-box settingFOR THOSE IN THE KNOW, this is THE glam place to stay on the Amalfi coast.
Chic and regularly showered in awards, Le Sirenuse has played host to scores of celebs over the years.
This one-time 18th century palace – former summer residence of owners the Sersale family – has all the feel of an opulent family home. Rooms – all different – come in
cool summertime creams, with polished Majolica tile floors. The best have dreamy terraces, views to die for, acres of space and gorgeous toiletries. Suites have decadent jacuzzi baths big enough for a Roman orgy, while flamboyant touches include murals, Asian antiques and fabulously ornate mirrors.
Guests at Le Sirenuse can tap into a library of more than 500 DVDs, though with
jaw-dropping views of Positano tumbling into the blue Med, you’ll feel you’re in the front row of the movies anyway. Be pummelled and pampered in the hotel’s Aveda spa before languishing by the pool. Or simply slip upstairs to the champagne bar to take in those killer views with a nightcap under the stars.
Hit the Spot
On the tumbling cliffside of pretty Positano.
Pillow Talk
Junior suites have front-row sea views and jacuzzi baths big enough for a Roman orgy.
Be Savvy
Dare to splash out for a prime room and plum views.
Be Smitten
Honeymoon heaven starts here.
Champagne sunset excursions This is definitely a place to bliss out. Dine at La Sponda restaurant, lit by dozens of flickering candles and lulled by mandolins. And make time for a sunset excursion along the Amalfi coast in Le Sirenuse's own yacht– champagne included, naturally.

Dining in Dine on Neapolitan dishes such as
linguine with frutti di mare, served in the glow of 400 candles. It's a beautiful setting and the cooking is first-rate, thanks to Le Sirenuse's links with three-Michelin star chef Alfonso Iaccarino. There's also a champagne and oyster bar on the terrace, where you can dine with fabulous cliff-edge views.
Breakfast Buffet breakfast is served until 11am
Room service Available 24 hours a day
Where? La Sponda at Le Sirenuse
What’s cooking? The style is typically Mediterranean, so expect lots of freshly caught fish and olives. We loved the millefeuille of fried anchovies.
Dress the part The vibe is elegant Mediterranean chic
Top table? Nearest the pool or the sea
See & Do Zip off to the Isle of Capri, visit the blue grotto and try the local limoncello. If history is more your bag, visit the near-perfectly preserved remains of ancient Pompeii. Drive along the Amalfi coast and have your breath taken away. Alternatively have a sunset cruise on the hotel's own boat and let someone else steer while you kick back with a cocktail.
Spa The Aveda Concept Spa at Le Sirenuse offers an impressive list of pampering treatments. For the ultimate chill-out, try the hydrotherapy or four hands massage.
Diary Dates May-September Positano's Summer festival is an extravaganza of opera, jazz and blues.
