Dining at Color Hotel Design & Style is in the Veranda restaurant or – for some stunning views – on the roof terrace. The emphasis is on local specialities with a contemporary twist, using fresh fish and local produce. Classics include spaghetti alle vongole and penne al pesto, or barbecued fish.

Hire one of the free bikes at reception to go pedalling around the lake, or take some lakeshore walks. Stroll through Bardolino’s Thursday outdoor market or hop aboard one of the lake steamers for a round-the-lake cruise.
Go windsurfing or sailing on the lake, or try tennis, trekking and horse riding on dry land. Tickets to the Verona opera can be arranged, as can vintage car tours in the hotel’s gleaming white Cabriolet. Sample some local Valpolicella and Custoza wines at nearby vineyards, or plan a daytrip to Venice or Verona.
