Guests staying here can relive Shakespeare’s famous balcony scene for themselves (“Romeo, Romeo wherefore art thou Romeo?”), sipping a glass of wine while gazing across the courtyard to the house where Juliet reputedly lived, from the balcony of their own luxury lovenest.

Rooms at this elegantly restored relais look out onto Juliet’s balcony or onto Via Cappello, lined with elegant stores, in the centre of Verona. All boast painted beamed ceilings, luxurious furnishings, kingsize beds, plush drapes, antique rugs and eclectic objets d’art – plus jacuzzi bathtubs (many designed for double soaks) loaded with Bulgari lotions and potions. Gates to the courtyard of Juliet’s House – a tourist magnet during the day – are closed to the public in the evenings, allowing guests to enjoy the setting of Il Sogno di Giulietta undisturbed.
