Rooms mix cutting-edge design with a Moroccan twist and curvy tadelakt walls. Expect a pre-loaded iPod dock with chill-out tunes, wi-fi, a cellphone with pre-loaded credit and designer toiletries. Beds are hand-made and bathrooms (with heavy curtains rather than doors) come with huge baths, fluffy towels and robes.

Pillow Talk
We loved the extra-lavish, chandeliered Master suite – and so will the mistress. Room Six is another winner, with its scarlet and gold silks.

Dining in
Dine on Gastro MK’s five-course French-Moroccan evening tasting menu – beginning with cocktails on the starlit roof terrace. Dishes might include grilled fillet of John Dory with Moroccan spiced lentils, beetroot purée, lychee and caramelised mango spaghetti. There are also lighter options for lunch and dinner.

Sit on the shaded patio in the afternoon and enjoy complimentary tea with home-made cakes, or splash out on a full English afternoon tea with scones and sandwiches – some with a Moroccan twist.

See & Do
Explore the winding streets of the Medina, with its full-on sights and sounds. Expect to encounter everything from carts and donkeys to love potions and exotic herbs. Less energetic but equally invigorating things to see include the Musée d’Art Islamique and lovely Majorelle Gardens. When you’re ready to head out of town, feast your eyes on the ancient Atlas mountains or the beach – all within a three hour drive. 

Spa
Maison MK Spa has two full time therapists and a traditional hammamist. You can book treatments ranging from massages and facials to exfoliation and waxing. The number one treatment here is a luxury hammam-massage combo.
