HOTEL V...
Stylish and serene hilltop hideaway with knockout ocean viewsWITH SWEEPING 360 DEGREE VISTAS of Andalucia’s Atlantic coast and the Moroccan mountains beyond, Hotel V...
sits snug in a pretty hilltop village far from the crowded costas.
This fetching boutique hotel in Vejer de la Frontera, near Cadiz – two 17th century stone houses turned into a
serene and stylish hideaway – is just the place to wind down and recharge in an unspoilt corner of Andalucia.
Good things start right at the top at Hotel V..., and its crowning glory is a ravishing roof terrace with kaleidoscope views of the Andalucian countryside and breezy Atlantic beaches beyond. Soak up the rays on a sunlounger, sip a sundowner at dusk or
hop into the rooftop jacuzzi for an after-dark soak while taking in the distant twinkling lights of Tangiers, across the straits of Gibraltar. There’s a help-yourself honesty bar for that essential chilled glass of Cava.
Hit the spot In hilltop Vejer de la Frontera, near Cadiz.
Pillow Talk Many Superior rooms have a small private garden or gallery area. Room 11 – with private terrace – has fabulous countryside views.
Be savvy There’s no pool at Hotel V... but you’re just five minutes from breezy Atlantic beaches. And there’s a rooftop jacuzzi to soak in.
Be smitten Andalucia gets even Moorish.
Artworks and antiques V... has been designed with huge flair and care. Behind the ebony and glass entrance doors you’ll find original wooden beams and stone floors, together with an eclectic mix of artworks and antiques – many brought back from the owner’s travels to far-flung spots. All is
cool and airy elegance.
Earthy and neutral tones make for soothing surrounds.
Super-comfy beds are dressed in Egyptian cotton sheets, softest pillows and duck down duvets. Other in-room essentials include wi-fi, satellite TV and personal CD players.
Roomy bathrooms come well stocked with fluffy towels, and Ayurvedic body products. For some full-on pampering,
head down the glass spiral staircase to the spa, housed in what used to be a water well.
Sit with a glass of Cava and some
delicious tapas in the cooling courtyard – prettily lit with candles at night – or take in those mesmerising views stretching to Africa from the rooftop. Hospitable hosts happy to go the extra mile are on hand to cosset guests and arrange watersports or excursions.
Unspoiled Vejer de la Frontera is a real Spanish hill town with whitewashed houses and narrow streets, with plenty of cultural and culinary interest. There are
miles of uncrowded sands nearby, along the relatively undeveloped Costa de la Luz – the coast of light.
