Hop on the hotel’s speedboat – or walk along the seafront – into Turkbuku, with its bars, shopping and nightlife.

Go Indiana Jones with some exploring at Bodrum Castle, once home to the knights of Saint John. Other sights not to be missed include the Myndus Gate and amphitheatre of ancient Halicarnassus, as well as the Mausoleum, one-time wonder of the world. There’s also a museum of underwater archaeology.

Explore the coastline with a private sailing trip or on horseback. There’s plenty of shopping – and haggling – to be done at Bodrum Bazaar, packed with clothes, leather goods and Turkish rugs. Or of course you just have a dip in Macakizi’s circular pool and lounge on the jetties.
