Miller's at Glencot House - At A Glance

Jacobean manor house stuffed with exotic antiques

Even Jane Austen couldn’t have painted a more fetching setting for flirtatious liaisons than the gorgeous gardens of Glencot House, an antique-stuffed manor house near the bijou cathedral city of Wells.

Pillow Talk
Room 16 is made for intimacy, with just room for the two of you and the bed – big, high and seductively framed.

Eat & Drink

Dining in
Lit by glimmering candles at night, Glencot House's restaurant overlooks the River Axe meandering through the grounds. Traditional Sunday lunches are popular here, though at other times chef Laurent Cortois conjures up classic British and French comfort food with a contemporary theme. We loved the Miller's seafood cocktail, piled with prawns, crab, avocado and pink grapefruit segments, followed by roasted chicken supreme and Eton mess.

Breakfast
Full breakfast is served until 10am. Try the smoked salmon and scrambled eggs.

Room service
Morning and evenings (limited)

See & Do

See & Do
The cathedral city of Wells is just down the road, with its pretty old streets, houses and cathedral green. Cheddar Gorge is well worth a visit, and has numerous signposted nature trails and walking paths. And if you love stalactites and spooky caverns, the caves of Wookey Hole are on your doorstep.

Spa
There's no spa as such, but you'll find a sauna and a plunge pool where you can exercise against the current.

Diary Dates
Late June
Come to rock n' roll at the Glastonbury Festival – avoiding the legendary mud baths if you can.
