Come here for...
● A townhouse treat in Bristol's chicest neighbourhood. ● Big baths and decadent beds. ● Cocktails on the terrace.
There's a great rear terrace with city views. Drinks and coffees are also served in the lounge, stocked with magazines and guides.
Good to know
It's a tall townhouse – with plenty of stairs!
Ten rooms and suites
All rooms have big beds, a widescreen TV with digital Freeview, free wi-fi, REN bathroom skincare products and waffle robes. There’s also a well stocked minibar.
We especially loved the spacious and private Loft suites at the top of the house – East and West. These fabulous suites are packed with Wow factor and have huge copper bathtubs for two.
Eat & Drink
There’s no restaurant here but cream teas with cakes and pastries are served in the afternoon – and you’re only minutes from dozens of eateries in nearby Clifton village. Number Thirty Eight is fully licensed, so you can have drinks served in your room, on the terrace or in the lounge.
Served until 9.30 weekdays and 10.00 at weekends. Look forward to Somerset apple juice and house recipe sausages made by Bristol butchers Ruby & White. Lighter alternatives such as scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, mushrooms on toast, fresh fruit and granola are also served.
Go jogging or walking on The Downs or mountain bike riding in Leigh Woods. You’re just a short walk from Bristol Zoo and the gorge-spanning Clifton Suspension Bridge. Bristol’s city centre attractions – the Harbour, M-Shed museum space, Cabot Square shops and SS Great Britain – are 30 mins away and you can hop on a bus just across the street. Nearby Clifton village is abuzz with cafes and restaurants.
Number Thirty Eight guests are welcomed at the nearby Lido Bristol – a luxury wellness club with outdoor heated pool, hot tub, sauna, restaurant and treatment rooms.
Watch circus artists, bands filmshows on the waterfront at Bristol’s Harbour festival.
Bristol Balloon Fiesta – Europe’s biggest hot air ballooning event – takes to the skies.
