Eat & Drink
Orestone Manor’s kitchen brigade aim to source the finest fresh ingredients locally.
Look forward to south Devon beef, west country free range pork and lamb, local estate wild game, dayboat fish and shellfish from Brixham and rope grown mussels and hand-dived scallops from the River Teign. Seasonal fruit and veggies are grown in the hotel's own kitchen gardens.
Do try the Brixham crab and avocado splashed with Martini, followed perhaps by local pan fried wild John Dory served with fennel, clams and Serrano ham crisp. Round off with an assiette of desserts or some flavoursome local cheeses. If you can't resist teatime temptation, the freshly made scones are a treat.
Available until morning and evening.
Breakfast is served until 10am. Look forward to a full English and plenty of other cooked options, fresh pastries and freshly squeezed orange juice.
See & Do
There’s heaps to do on the scenic English Riviera, and the pretty spots of Babbacombe, Dartmouth and Cockington – not to mention Dartmoor’’s wild expanses – are all within easy reach. You can re-trace the world of Agatha Christie along Torquay’s seafront, visit the Devon Wildlife hospital or watch all the furry antics at Buckfast Otter sanctuary. There’s ample scope for swimming, boating and fishing.
Orestone has a good selection of board games and playing cards for evenings by the fire. Bespoke private tours can also be arranged with an experienced local guide, and the beach is just a stroll away (though more of a climb on the return leg!).
